In Theaters Now: Boyhood

If you have not done so already, consider checking out Richard Linklater’s Boyhood. The film, starring Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane, Lorelei Linklater, and Ethan Hawke, is an American coming-of-age drama that was widely released in theaters on August 15, 2014. One of the qualities that makes Boyhood worthy of note is its unique mode of production. The film was shot intermittently over an eleven-year period from May 2002 to October 2013, following Coltrane as he grows from a child into an adult. Thus far, Boyhood has done phenomenally well receiving many favorable reviews (it has a Metacritic score of 100) and several awards (including Best Film at the Seattle International Film Festival). Boyhood is currently playing at the Regal Royal Park Stadium 16 in Gainesville and other theaters nationwide (see your local listings for more details). Here’s the film’s trailer:
